We are also happy to accommodate anyone, just shoot us a message! with a low-key atmosphere and fun group this is a great way to get your green horse in a show atmosphere, get some extra practice, gain some confidence, or just come have some fun!

The Bureau of Land Management will host a wild horse and burro adoption April 11-12, 2025, at Douglas County Fairgrounds in Castle Rock, Colorado.

Approximately 35 horses and 10 burros will be available for adoption to individuals who are eligible and can provide good homes.

“The BLM has placed nearly 300,000 wild horses and burros into private care since 1971,” said Alan Bittner, BLM Colorado Deputy State Director for Resources. “This is an opportunity to provide a good home to one of America’s Living Legends.”

Viewing opportunities will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 11 and from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April. 12. The competitive bid will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12. BLM staff will be onsite to provide more information and assist with the adoption application process. Bidder registration and adoption application approvals MUST be completed no later than Saturday, April 12 at 10 a.m. Minimum bidding starts at $125 fee for adopted animals and for purchased animals (sales authority, three strikes, or 10 yrs old +)

To qualify to adopt a wild horse:

Applicants must be at least 18 years old with no record of animal abuse.

Homes must have a minimum of 400 square feet of corral space per animal, with access to food, water, and shelter.

Corral fence must meet height requirements:

Adult horses – 6 feet

Yearlings – 5 feet

Trailers must be stock type, covered, with swing gates and sturdy walls/floors.

Load out of adopted horses will take place at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 29. Fees starts at $125 for adopted animals. What is Equestrian Yoga?
Do you want to feel good in your body when you’re done riding? Do you want to gain flexibility so you can sit deeper and more safely in the saddle? Do you need to rebuild trust in your horse again?
Equestrian Yoga can help you overcome these challenges. It gives you tools to use when you’re at a horse show, riding out on the trail, or just being around your horse. The practice allows you to get out of your busy mind and become more in tune with your physical body, which is what connects with your horse. It allows you to discover what your strengths, weaknesses, and imbalances are, and how it affects your riding and overall performance with your horse. This powerful practice shows you how using your breath can help your horse to relax and become more focused on you.
Equestrian Yoga complements any riding discipline and is suitable for horses and riders of all ages and abilities.

Join us for Equestrian Yoga in Castle Rock at the Chapparo Ranch.
No previous yoga experience is required.

If you’d like to stay longer, bring a lunch for after the practice and enjoy a ride through the neighborhood on the dirt roads.
