Let’s face it, as a horse owner, we have all relied on a boarding facility at some point to be able to enjoy our equine friends. And unless you are really blessed, most of us will always require a boarding facility to be able to enjoy horses.

10 Things to Consider When Buying a Horse Property

    January 30, 2019 / No Comments

By Andrea Price Valenzuela If you are in the market for a horse property, chances are you have a lengthy list of all of the attributes you want in your new property. These can be as specific as what features the house will have (though many equestrians will tell you, it’s not about the house, it’s about the barn!) down to the size of acreage. Through my years of experience in selling real estate and my firsthand experience of building my own horse property, I’ve come up with a list of ten things that are often overlooked when considering a horse property.

    Product Review: Porta-Grazer™

    January 15, 2019 / No Comments

We wanted to share a product that we have been using for a while now, and absolutely love. It’s the Porta-Grazer™ , which is a way to feed your horse’s hay naturally to them but in a slower manner. The Porta-Grazer™ comes in 3 different sizes: Mini, XL, and Corner Feeder. The image to the right shows approximately how many flakes each size will hold. We personally use the corner feeder, as it holds enough hay to last in between 3 feedings throughout the day/night for large warmbloods. So no more being on a feeding schedule/deadline before your horses tear down the barn!

Horse Hauling; What the new regulations & laws mean for you

    December 29, 2017 / No Comments

With all the recent changes to regulations regarding horse trailering, it’s no wonder many of us are left dazed & confused. Get the details here on what you need to do to stay legal while hauling your horse, or anyone else’s horse! ELD’s or Electronic Logging Devices The electronic logging device (ELD) rule – congressionally mandated as a part of MAP-21 – is intended to help create a safer work environment for drivers, and make it easier and faster to accurately track, manage, and share records of duty status (RODS) data. An ELD synchronizes with a vehicle engine to automatically record driving time, for easier, more accurate hours of service…

Equestrian Myths: Goosenecks and 5th Wheels are NOT the same thing!

    December 6, 2017 / No Comments

Many people use these terms interchangeably! However, a gooseneck and a 5th wheel are not the same thing. While both types of trailers attach to the truck in the truck bed, the way these two attach is significantly different, and they are not interchangeable.

The Eclipse and my Equine: Will They Be OK?

    August 15, 2017 / 1 Comment

A total solar eclipse will be visible across the U.S. on August 21, the first time on the U.S. mainland since 1979. Depending on where you live in the United States, up to 99.4% of the sun will be covered by the moon. What does that mean for your horse, donkey, mule, or even other non-equine pets?
